Plot Summary

This song-filled film classic combines endearing live action and enchanting animation to tell the heartwarming story of a young boy with big dreams! Jeremiah is a determined country boy who adopts a mischievous black lamb named Danny. When Jeremiah daydreams of Danny winning a blue ribbon, his scrapbook pictures magically come to life and convince him to enter Danny in the county fair! Along the way, Jeremiah learns valuable lessons on love and dedication. Calling this one of his favorite films, Walt Disney noted, "Why, that's the life my brother and I grew up with as kids out in Missouri." Get in on all the high-spirited, down-home fun for everyone!

Burl Ives (Uncle Hiram) sings the famous "Lavender Blue (Dilly Dilly)" by Larry Morey and Eliot Daniel (adapted from a folk song), and the tune received an Academy Award® nomination for Best Song.

The film was one of Walt Disney's favorites. He noted "SO DEAR was especially close to me. Why, that's the life my brother and I grew up with as kids out in Missouri."
